Hi peeps i have recently been having problems on our server when i go to join the server my ping is a low low below 20 and when i join the server it goes above 100 and sometimes around 70-90. I join other servers and my ping is low like between 20-40. I have reinstalled steam and reinstalled windows. There is no spyware on my pc etc i have been trying to find out what the problem could be but i cannot find anything. Suggestions are appreciated Also leanne is on the same network as me and hers is fine.

the fact that she is on the same network must mean that it is something on your pc not the network :/

Yea i was going to say that it could be due to your pathway into the dustworld servers (i.e. what cables link from your comp to the dustworld servers) but the fact that leannes is fine rules that out. Have you tryed switching ports on your router, connecting your comp to the one leannes is in and hers into yours? That way you should be able to rule out a dodgy router/modem, all that i can think of atm :s

Well fingers crossed its that and it gets all sorted. If its new it will be under warranty and all that shizzle so will be no prob to exchange it.

Right i plugged my port into where the other comp was and when we both connected leannes ping went high. And when i swapped again it still was high, so when the second person connects it laggs it out, luckily i had a spare router here due to waiting for my rma to come back from linksys i invested in a d-link modem/router it seems fine now but i must have to update the firmware on the linksys again. And no steve im not on wifi anymore due to losing too many packets whilst gaming. We are ethernet (rj45) cabled.
And ill do a sneaky cheeky bump for ram as well
Hurry the fuck up with my router ;D ;D ;D ;D

The server is acting really weird lately.. The other day the reg suddenly turned shit and i had to do a server restart a couple of times before it went back too normal..
